Freelancing with the team at Trailer Park for months on this epic project was
a labor of love. Thanks to the great talent and render farm we were able to
finish a huge amount of uncompressed animation in 16bit - Trillions of Colors
and meet the seemingly impossible deadline.
I worked on animation for 6 of the 9 discs in the box set. The design process
started in Adobe Illustrator and was later moved into After Effects 3D space.
The editorial process started in Final Cut Pro and once rough edits were
approved by the client, moved into After Effects for rebuilding in 3D. Using
Twixtor Pro to slow-mo some short clips and a lot of fine tuning of feathered
edges, movie clips appear in glowing 3D panels that skim along the graphical
floor. The final AE comps for each disc had approximately 700 layers. Final
renders were TIFF sequences done on the renderfarm controlled by Smedge
and compiled into Quicktime movies with audio for delivery to the authoring
